Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT is a structured, evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals regulate emotions, manage stress, improve relationships, and develop mindfulness skills. Originally developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan, DBT is highly effective for anyone experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, or relationship difficulties.
This therapy is not just for people with complex mental health concerns—it provides practical, everyday skills that help anyone build resilience, confidence, and emotional control.
How DBT Can Help You – DBT Focuses on four key skill areas:
• Mindfulness – Learn to be present, reduce overthinking, and respond rather than react to situations.
• Distress Tolerance – Gain strategies to cope with crisis situations and emotional distress without making things worse.
• Emotion Regulation – Understand and manage emotions effectively so they don’t take over your life.
• Interpersonal Effectiveness – Build strong, healthy relationships and learn how to communicate assertively while maintaining self-respect.
Who can benefit from DBT – DBT is helpful for anyone who:
• Feels overwhelmed by emotions
• Struggles with impulsivity or reactivity in relationships
• Finds it difficult to manage stress or distressing situations
• Wants to develop more emotional resilience and control
• Has experienced anxiety, depression or self-doubt and is looking for practical skills to create change
• Wants to improve their ability to communicate, set boundaries and navigate relationships
